The Table above provides links to maps and documents that are organized by subject. Expect to see some reorganization as they are added and as new subjects arise. I will try to keep each subject as independent as possible, so expect to find the same document or map in more than one subject area.
This is an example of the maps I will archive. Click on the image to view the 0.7 Mb map. It is compiled from screen captures of portions of the Oglethorpe County Parcel Map, which is overlayed on a somewhat inaccurate USGS Topo Map (with the contours removed) which I have tried to correct. Exact locations of streams and lakes will probably have to be determined by examining aerial images and deed records. This version of the map has more accurate positions for the lower Moss Creek and lower Goulding Creek, based on an aerial photo.
The map shows the Moss Creek and Goulding Creek watersheds, both in Oglethorpe County, and a rough draft of the Big Creek watershed in Athens-Clarke County which joins the Moss plus Goulding Creek just before passing under the Wolfskin Road Bridge. To the south is the Barrow Creek watershed, still to be added, to which Big Creek joins just before Barrow Creek enters the Oconee River.
